WE'RE BACK!

Our message heading into next season should be the same message that was projected following our second consecutive season opening loss to Maryland, “This one game will not define us.” Well, we should take that same attitude going into the off-season: “This one season will not define us.”

Dak the Savior, Zeke the MVP and a Message to Cowboys Fans

Raise your hand if you had the Dallas Cowboys going 5-1 into their bye week following Tony Romo’s back injury against the Seattle Seahawks back in August? If you’re raising your hand you’re either a habitual liar or you pulled a Biff Tannen and hopped in the DeLorean to drop off a sports almanac from the future to your younger self.

The Fanatic Perspective 2016 NFL Preview

Wilson was arguably the best quarterback in the league the last two months of the 2015 season. With all of his receiving core back, a somewhat improved offensive line and Lynch’s retirement, I expect an All-World season from Russell Wilson. He’s entering his prime years as a quarterback and has a complete command of Darrell Bevell’s offense.

“It’s Complicated” My Love/Hate Relationship With the Rio Olympics

Fortunately, every four years we are blessed with the Olympic Games and all of the patriotism, athleticism, drama, controversy and sheer jubilation that it brings. If the Olympics and I were in a relationship on social media we would definitely be, “It’s Complicated.” At this point, we’re a troubled couple. I felt it would be necessary to seek out counseling as we try to work through some of our issues.

Dennis Green: The Forgotten Pioneer

Offensive coaches like Sean Payton, Mike McCarthy and Andy Reid get the cool mastermind labels and often more respect from a schematic, intellectual standpoint. Denny Green proved that a black coach could excel functioning at a high intellectual capacity while also being a successful head coach.

Kevin Durant Joins the Warriors for "Basketball Reasons"

The first thing Durant said when free agency began was that he would make the best basketball decision for his future. His decision wasn’t about marketing opportunities, joining friends, or playing for his hometown team. It was strictly, “basketball reasons.” How can you argue with Durant’s decision from the soul perspective of trying to win a championship?

Scared Money Don't Make Money

Whether Canelo is scared or not, perception is reality in the sport of boxing and De La Hoya should understand this. Young Oscar would’ve taken this fight in a heartbeat in the 90’s and he certainly didn’t have the resume that Canelo does at the same point in their careers. If Canelo wants to be the face of boxing, he has to fight and beat GGG. Doesn’t Oscar De La Hoya want to be the guy responsible for ending the political strongholds in boxing and making the fights that the fans want to see?

2016 NBA Finals: Parallels Run Deep

As for Cleveland, Richard Jefferson emerged to give the Cavs juice off the bench, LeBron got super aggressive from Game 5 on, Ty Lue did a brilliant job finding the right pace for his team and figuring out the right lineups to match up with GSW’s death lineup. Funny how it was Love that was isolated on defense against Steph the final minute in Game 7 and forces him to shoot a contested 3 that doesn’t hit the rim by being disciplined and moving his feet against an elite ball handler. Sometimes first impressions aren’t everything.

The Chosen One Gets One for the Land

Northeast Ohio means everything to LeBron and he did one of the most humane things we ever seen an otherworldly superstar do, he forgave them. LeBron’s forgiveness is the reason why the city of Cleveland’s 52 year title drought is over. We talk about killer instinct, toughness and strength all the time in sports, and rightfully so, but the key to LeBron accomplishing his greatest mission was his ability to have compassion and forgive his homeland.
