Our message heading into next season should be the same message that was projected following our second consecutive season opening loss to Maryland, “This one game will not define us.” Well, we should take that same attitude going into the off-season: “This one season will not define us.”

Whether Canelo is scared or not, perception is reality in the sport of boxing and De La Hoya should understand this. Young Oscar would’ve taken this fight in a heartbeat in the 90’s and he certainly didn’t have the resume that Canelo does at the same point in their careers. If Canelo wants to be the face of boxing, he has to fight and beat GGG. Doesn’t Oscar De La Hoya want to be the guy responsible for ending the political strongholds in boxing and making the fights that the fans want to see?
As for Cleveland, Richard Jefferson emerged to give the Cavs juice off the bench, LeBron got super aggressive from Game 5 on, Ty Lue did a brilliant job finding the right pace for his team and figuring out the right lineups to match up with GSW’s death lineup. Funny how it was Love that was isolated on defense against Steph the final minute in Game 7 and forces him to shoot a contested 3 that doesn’t hit the rim by being disciplined and moving his feet against an elite ball handler. Sometimes first impressions aren’t everything.
Northeast Ohio means everything to LeBron and he did one of the most humane things we ever seen an otherworldly superstar do, he forgave them. LeBron’s forgiveness is the reason why the city of Cleveland’s 52 year title drought is over. We talk about killer instinct, toughness and strength all the time in sports, and rightfully so, but the key to LeBron accomplishing his greatest mission was his ability to have compassion and forgive his homeland.
